Safety operating procedures for semi-automatic pipe bender

The semi automatic pipe bender is mainly based on the vector bending principle and uses microcomputer control to complete any spatial three-dimensional pipe shape required by the user. It is an important processing equipment for modern bending and shaping. So how can you complete the operation quickly and safely? Simply put, there are only three steps:

Ⅰ.Before Operating the semi automatic pipe bender

1.The machine tool must be properly grounded, and the wire must be no less than 4mm² copper flexible wire. Do not connect to a power supply voltage exceeding the specified range, do not plug or unplug plugs while the power is on, and do not use a megohmmeter to test the control circuit, otherwise it may damage the components.

2.When plugging or unplugging connectors on the semi automatic pipe bender, do not pull on the wires or cables to prevent the solder joints from being pulled off.

3.Proximity switches, encoders, etc., must not be struck with hard objects.

4.Do not strike the display unit with sharp objects.

5.The electrical box must be placed in a ventilated area; it is forbidden to work in dusty or corrosive gas environments.

6.Do not add or modify PC input/output terminals without authorization.

7.When changing the machine tool power supply, the motor rotation direction must be reconfirmed.

8.The machine tool should be kept clean, paying particular attention to ensuring there are no foreign objects in the sliding grooves of the clamping blocks and slides.

9.Regularly lubricate the chain and other sliding parts.

10.Power must be disconnected during cleaning and maintenance.

11.Pre-start preparation: Check if the oil level in the tank is at the oil level line, add oil to all lubrication points, confirm the motor rotation direction upon startup, check for any abnormal noises from the oil pump, and check the hydraulic system for any oil leaks after startup (adding oil is not allowed when the angle encoder is in the off position).

12.Pressure adjustment: Adjust the pressure using the electromagnetic relief valve to ensure the system pressure reaches the required working pressure, generally not exceeding 12.5 MPa.

13.Mold adjustment: For mold installation, ensure the mold and clamping blocks are aligned; the clamping blocks can be adjusted with bolts. Align the pusher block with the mold; the pusher block is adjustable. Align the mandrel with the mold; loosen the mandrel bracket bolts, adjust to the center, and then tighten the bolts.

Ⅱ.Operation of semi automatic pipe bender

1.When the semi automatic pipe benderis running, ensure that personnel do not enter the area swept by the rotating arm.

2.When the machine is working, all personnel are prohibited from entering the space swept by the rotating arm and pipe fittings.

3.The machine tool’s hydraulic system uses ordinary hydraulic oil, which should be changed annually under normal circumstances. The oil filter must be cleaned simultaneously.

4.When adjusting the machine tool (die), the adjuster should press the button themselves. One person should not adjust the machine tool while another operates the control cabinet.

5.The mandrel should be removed when adjusting the machine tool or running it idle.

6.The hydraulic system pressure should not exceed 14 MPa.

7.When manually adjusting the side push cylinder speed, the rotating arm should be rotated to ≥90° before adjustment. The adjustment speed should be synchronized with the linear speed of the rotating arm rotating the edge of the pipe bending die. It is prohibited to exceed the linear speed of the rotating die edge in manual mode.

8.After a period of use, the chain tension should be checked to ensure consistent tension between the upper and lower chains. 9. During automatic operation in mandrel bending mode, before the bending arm returns, the operator must ensure the mandrel is inside the pipe, or that there is no obstruction on the mandrel during the bending arm’s return; otherwise, the mandrel or mandrel may be bent or broken.

III. After the semi-automatic pipe bending machine finishes its operation

Disconnect the power supply and perform cleaning and lubrication procedures.
